Accident and Emergency Department

The Accident and Emergency Department has its own reception desk for admissions and a large adjacent waiting room for patients and relatives.

The examination boxes are situated in the centre of the unit with corridors on either side to separate the circulation of hospital beds from that of patients. All the various boxes and observation room are equipped with an installed oxygen supply and vacuum, cardiac monitoring with external pacing devices and radio transparent stretchers.

The entire Surgical Department, Paediatrics and Interventional Cardiology Services provide, as a further facility, 24 hour on-call medical cover for the Accident and Emergency Department.
