Last week, the Merco Healthcare Reputation Monitor ranking, celebrating this year its 10th edition, was unveiled. This ranking evaluates the reputation of all hospitals in Spain through surveys conducted with professionals in the sector, patient associations, journalists, healthcare executives, and others. The collected data is analyzed alongside the main healthcare indicators of each facility to create a ranking of public and private hospitals across all autonomous communities.
Since last year, IMED Hospitales has had three of its hospitals included in this ranking. In the 2023 edition, IMED Valencia, IMED Levante, and IMED Elche were added. The 2024 ranking now also recognizes IMED Gandía, IMED San Jorge and IMED Colón as one of the top 100 private hospitals in Spain.
Rafael Giménez, the Medical Director of IMED Hospitales, expressed great satisfaction with the inclusion of three additional hospitals from the group in one of the sector's most prestigious rankings. “It is very gratifying to see that the group’s most recent projects, such as the hospitals in Gandía, Alcoy, and our second hospital in Valencia, have already become established realities, now with the added reputational recognition from the Merco ranking. This kind of news strengthens our patient-centered care model, which is supported by cutting-edge technology and a highly qualified team of professionals,” he stated.
As a result, nearly all IMED hospitals are featured in this ranking, with the exception of the new hospital the group opened less than a month ago in Murcia—IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta—which was not considered for this ranking due to timing.
Currently, IMED has seven hospitals and a total of six medical centers and polyclinics located in the Valencian Community and Murcia. In addition, IMED is developing two new projects in Catalonia, which makes IMED one of the leading private healthcare groups across the Mediterranean region.
