Alfaz del Pi, 31-1-2018. IMED Hospitals group just closed the acquisition of two medical centers settled in Alcoy and Gandía, that will be included to their welfare network on the next months. The centers that IMED will incorporate are the San Jorge Sanatorium and the Gandía Medical Center on the capital of La Safor. After the opening of IMED Valencia in 2017 and with these new acquisitions, IMED is the private hospital group with most influence on the Valencian Community.
It is planned that during this year begins the reform works and equipment needed so these two centers adapt to the quality standards of the group and be a member of the welfare network of IMED Hospitals. "During 2018 these two centers will proceed in our network and will be named IMED Alcoy and IMED Gandía", declared from IMED.
San Jorge Sanatorium is a center with wide track record in the city of Alcoy. "It is planned a 4 million of Euros investment on this center with the objective of giving a new impulse to the private sanitary offer in the city of Alcoy and its region. The facilities and equipment of the San Jorge Sanatorium require an upgrade that now we want to achieve", declared IMED sources. It is planned that the suitability works of the center finish in September of this year. When the reform of the new IMED Alcoy finishes, it will have facilities of 3.000 square meters and will have: 15 outpatient’s consultations, 2 OR, 20 rooms, 24h emergency service and imaging diagnosis area fully equipped with last generation technology.
Meanwhile, Gandía Medical Center is a center that has 2.800 square meters and that is settled on the capital of the region of La Safor. IMED plans to invest 3 million for the reform and equipment of IMED Gandía and makes a reform that will be finished during the month of June. “Gandía is also a strategic incorporation to the IMED network, so we can offer our sanitary assistance in the entire coast from Torrevieja till Valencia”. When the reform works finishes, the new IMED Gandía will have facilities with: 20 outpatient’s consultations, 2 OR, 12 rooms, 24h emergency service and imaging diagnosis area.
“On the beginning we only had a hospital in Benidorm and in less than 15 years we have now a welfare network with 7 sanitary centers, more than 1000 employees and 400 external collaboration professionals”, declared Ángel Gómez, managing director of IMED. “Our objective is to be the reference in private health in our area of influence”, added Gómez.
Other projects
During 2018 is planned that IMED open also a radiotherapy center in the city of Murcia, taking the plunge for the first time outside the Valencian Community. The center will be settled in a plot settled on the Nueva Condomina area.
