Dr. García Escrivá presents a medical trial on the use of a new epilepsy medicine

Press Releases | 1 de December de 2014

Dr. Alejandro García Escrivá presented a poster this week about experience with the use of the new epilepsy medicine, at the  yearly LXVI Spanish Neurology Society reunion in Valencia.

The medicine, known as eslicarbazepine acetate, acts on the neuropathic pain associated with diabetic polyneuropathy.

The study presented is the first in Spain that analizes the effects of this medication on these types of patients and the second in the world.

It stands out that the treatment eslicarbazepine acetate should be used understandingly, meaning for it to be used when the usual medication the patient takes, doesn't have any effect.

The medicine has given very good results in these types of patients, where other treatments have failed.

The study will be published in the next edition of the magazine on the Spanish Neurology Society (Sociendad Española de Neurología).
