Dr. Borja Merino Diaz has participated in the publication of the book 'Resource techniques in endovascular surgery', edited by Dr. Carlos Vaquero. The book has received input from many vascular surgery doctors throughout Spain, who have developed presentations from alternative techniques to conventional techniques and not just everyday techniques used in vascular surgery.
In the chapter 'Resources in the endovascular treatment of aortic pathology', Dr. Merino explains a detailed discussion of the technique, pointing out the conclusions that now contribute to the success of it and its indications. Dr. Merino himself stresses that "we can say that" chimney stents "(Chimney Graft Technique) and its technical variants, can be a valid alternative to fenestrated stents used in emergency situations, patients with high comorbidity and anatomy difficulties of the treated artery, or if there is no time available for the manufacture of a fenestrated device. "
Dr. Merino is responsible of Angiology and Vascular Surgery in the Hospitals IMED Elche and IMED Levante.
