The swimmers that went to the hospital were Paula Ruiz and María Valdés from Malaga (first and secondposition of open waters of Spain), Gaspar Andrade from Galicia (first position of open waters of Spain) andAlberto Martínez from Cartagena, junior champion of the Spain’s Cup.
The athletes went to the ICARDIO unit (Full Cardiology Service), where they could speak with Dr. MaríaDolores Masiá. The doctor, specialized in sports cardiology, reminded to the swimmers how important is todo cardiology tests, in a prevention level and as well to adapt the physical preparation for elite athletes.
IMED has collaborated with the Mediterranean Coast Challenge, as the official medical service of theexhibition in the second consecutive year.
